This series of four photographs were displayed at Omit Limitation's [Unfold] Vulnerability Group Art Show. Model: Asha Pieper Music. Leading up to the show, I was featured on the OL blog here. [full disclosure/editor's note: I am actually not always having fun, that would be technically impossible].
I met musician Asha Pieper for the first time on a cold December day in 2014. Together we shared an intimate experience in a Parkdale bathroom that involved screaming, floating and laughing. We hope you feel something - anything - when looking at these images. To me, exploring vulnerability as an artist means letting your most sacred and taboo topics rise to the surface, during the creative process. Allowing myself to be vulnerable was an important process for this project. What does it mean to be vulnerable, and a woman? Where do we feel our vulnerability in our bodies? Where does it begin, and end? How do we put it away in ourselves when we face the world?
